BEIJING (Asian Metal) 2 Feb 18 – Currently, mainstream transaction prices for Chinese ethylene glycol antimony 57%min hold at RMB45,000-46,000/t (USD7,146-7,305/t), basically unchanged from last week. Insiders gradually enter into the Spring Festival holiday state, so market participants anticipate that prices for Chinese ethylene glycol antimony would be unlikely to change in the coming days.

An agent in South China claimed, “now the lowest price for the ethylene glycol antimony we can accept is RMB45,000/t (USD7,146), almost unchanged from last week.” They sold around 15t of the material at this price last week and believe that insiders gradually leave the market for holiday, so the market would be hard to change before the Spring Festival.

With a regular sale volume of 100tpm for ethylene glycol antimony, the source sold around 120t in January, up by about 30t from December, and holds about 100t of stocks now.

Another producer in South China explained that they refuse to sell at prices below RMB45,500/t (USD7,226/t) for ethylene glycol antimony, basically unchanged from last week. “They sold around 20t of the material at RMB45,500/t (USD7,226/t) last week,” the source said, expecting that the market would move stably before the Spring festival due to lower market participation.

With an annual capacity of 1,200t for ethylene glycol antimony, the source produced around 100t in January, basically unchanged from December, and holds less than 100t of stocks now.
